Please get tested regularly. Knowledge is power and could save your life.  Remember if you discover you are HIV positive you don’t need to have insurance to get help.

The Very Handsome Star of HDTV’s Color Splash, David Bromstad has partnered with Janssen Therapeutics on an initiative which encourages people to get tested as part of a campaign called, “Know Yourself: Get HIV Tested.”  He has created a beautiful mural to promote this initiative. David, a former HERO of the Month. promotes CDC resources where you can text your zip code and find testing centers near you. HERO covers his speech about the texting program and shows his mural at the LGBT Community Center in NYC.  Please check out this amazing video and spread the word.

Additional Anonymous Testing Sites

These Testing sites do not require you to give your name or any other identifying information. Test results can never be linked to you. If you test positive, they may ask for your name but you don’t have to give it to them. You may call the New York City Department of Health at (800) TALK HIV or (800) 825-5448 or at (212) 447-8200 (follow the instructions to reach the AIDS hotline) with questions regarding anonymous HIV testing or to make an appointment at one of these sites. The locations listed below are Department of Health anonymous HIV Testing sites.  Many also offer free and confidential STD services, although their hours may vary.
