John MacPhee serves as the Executive Director and CEO of The Jed Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting emotional health and preventing suicide among college and university students, and brings 20 years of leadership and management experience from the business and not-for-profit settings. Prior to The Jed Foundation, he served as president of Strativa Pharmaceuticals, where he oversaw commercial operations, clinical development, medical affairs, alliance management and business development.
Previously, he worked at Forest Laboratories, where he led the launches of treatments for depression, anxiety and Alzheimer’s. John also serves as a board member for Bottom Line, a nonprofit organization that provides guidance counseling to disadvantaged urban youth to help them get into college and graduate. He earned a BA from Columbia College, an MBA from New York University and an MPH from Columbia University.
With a B. A. and MBA from Columbia University, Danielle is currently Head of Business Development and Partnerships at StubHub, and eBay company. Her group is responsible for forging all strategic, sports, music, theater partnerships for the company. As a consultant with StubHub in its launch years, Danielle brought the company’s first large scale partners on board in 2004. She joined StubHub fulltime in early 2006. Her group now manages 65+ partners.
Danielle carries over 20 years of experience marketing and building brands in the Sports & Entertainment industries. Previously, she served as Vice President of Marketing and New Media for Madison Square Garden, where she managed online and strategic growth for the Madison Square brand and its assets. Prior to MSG, she was Director of International Strategic Planning at ESPN International. Danielle started her career at the NBA, where she remained for 6 years.
Peter Vukelic serves as a luxury travel partner at TresVous Personal Travel Services. He has traveled the world and is the expert in world-class hotel accommodations and restaurant recommendations. His black book of luxury tour guides has earned him the title “Concierge of Fine Travel.
Prior to TresVous, Mr. Vukelic served as Vice President of Governmental Industry & Corporate Affairs at Try-It Distribution Co., Inc., a beverage distributor company that manages sales and service centers in Buffalo, Albany and Saratoga Springs. He and his family are recognized as leading corporate citizens and supporters of area charities and not-for-profits. His family business has received numerous national awards for business achievements and for humanitarian contributions. Some of Peter’s memberships include The Burchfield Penney Art Center and the Homeless Alliance of Western New York. He serves on several boards including: The National Beer Wholesalers Association, The New York State Beer Wholesalers Association, The National Federation for Just Communities, The Goodwill Industries, The Buffalo Market Arcade Theatre, and most recently, HIV Experience Resources Organization, (HERO).
Peter Vukelic earned his B.S. in Business Management from Spring Hill College in 1993 and has over 13 years of marketing, sales and industry and corporate affairs expertise.
Mr. Meisner has worked as National Sales Manager for companies including Variety Publications and HERE Media for both print and online content. He is currently Runs the New York office and manages the entire North American sales force for Clearspring online applications.
He is responsible for finding sponsors for the organization, assisting in all fundraising activities and heads up all corporate marketing partner initiatives and contracts.
Mr. Archer is an award winning writer and actor. He has starred in several major gay independent films, three of which he also produced and wrote. Jesse is also a Senior Writer for DNA Magazine, He is also contributor of features and opinion pieces in Out Magazine, The Advocate, and other print and online outlets.
Mr. Archer writes and edits content for the Web site and serves as on camera talent for special segments on HIVHero.org
Ms. Connett has been a media professional for more than 20 years and is the founder of Global Eye Media, which works with non-profits on all things media. She spent 17 years as a financial journalist and editor at Institutional Investor News. She is also a freelance journalist, editor and professional travel photographer.
Ms. Connett is the Webmaster for HIVhero.org, photographer and also assists with video interviews.
Founder of the JENA Company (Creates Original Theatrical Works), Mr. Adams is a successful playwright who produces national tours of his work to educated communities regarding Civil Rights, Immigration in the United States and History. From 1990–2000 he was producer for Encore Productions where he produced and managed over 60 National and Region Theatrical productions.
Mr. Adams is responsible for providing content for the Web site and assists in grant writing and fundraising efforts.
We are sad to report that Mr. Adams passed away in October 2014. In his honor, HERO will present a John Adams Award presented to a performer each year at the Broadway And Ballet HERO Awards for best Broadway debut.
